Terms and Conditions

These terms govern your use of sterling-ae.com and the supply of goods and services by Sterling Middle East Trading LLC.

Effective date: September 2026 · Last updated: September 2026

1. About these terms

These terms and conditions govern your use of sterling-ae.com and the supply of goods and services by Sterling Middle East Trading LLC, a company licensed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, trade licence number [TRADE LICENCE NUMBER] (“Sterling Middle East”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

By using this website or placing an order with us, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use this website.

Where we have signed a separate written agreement with you, such as a distribution, installation or trade partner agreement, that agreement takes precedence over these terms to the extent of any conflict.

2. Use of this website

This website and its content, including text, images, product data and layout, are owned by or licensed to Sterling Middle East. You may view and print pages for your own reference or for the purpose of evaluating a purchase. You may not copy, republish or use our content for commercial purposes without our written permission.

Sterling Power, product names and associated marks are the property of Sterling Power UK and are used by Sterling Middle East under authorisation as its appointed regional distributor. Nothing on this website transfers any right in those marks to you.

You agree not to use this website in any way that is unlawful, that interferes with its operation, or that attempts to gain unauthorised access to any part of it.

3. Product information

Product descriptions, specifications, drawings, weights, dimensions and images on this website are provided for guidance. They are based on information supplied by the manufacturer and may be updated without notice. Manufacturers may change specifications, and the specification supplied with the goods takes precedence over anything published here.

Images are illustrative. Colour, finish and accessories supplied may differ from the image shown.

4. Quotations and prices

A quotation is not an offer capable of acceptance until confirmed by us in writing. Quotations are valid for [X] days from the date of issue unless the quotation states otherwise, and are subject to stock availability at the time of order confirmation.

Prices are quoted in UAE Dirhams (AED) and are exclusive of Value Added Tax unless expressly stated. VAT is charged at the prevailing UAE rate. Prices are exclusive of delivery, installation, customs duties outside the UAE and any third-party charges unless the quotation states that these are included.

We reserve the right to revise a quotation before order confirmation where there has been a material change in manufacturer pricing, exchange rates, duty or freight costs, or where the quotation contains a manifest error.

5. Orders

An order is placed when you accept a quotation or issue a purchase order to us. A contract is formed only when we confirm the order in writing, or when we deliver the goods, whichever happens first.

Orders for goods brought in specifically for you, or configured or supplied to your specification, cannot be cancelled once we have placed the order with the manufacturer, except with our written agreement and subject to any costs we have already incurred.

6. Payment, title and risk

Payment terms are as stated on the quotation or invoice. Unless we have agreed credit terms with you in writing, payment is due in full before dispatch or collection.

Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery, or on collection where you or your carrier collects. Ownership of the goods does not pass to you until we have received payment in full.

We may suspend delivery or withhold further supply where an account is overdue.

7. Delivery

Delivery dates are estimates given in good faith and are not guaranteed. We are not liable for delay caused by the manufacturer, freight forwarders, customs clearance or any cause outside our reasonable control.

You must inspect the goods on delivery. Any shortage, visible damage or incorrect item must be notified to us in writing within [X] days of delivery, with photographs where relevant, so that we can raise a claim with the carrier or manufacturer within the time limits that apply.

8. Technical advice and system specification

We provide technical advice and system specification based on the information you give us about your vessel, vehicle, site or application. The accuracy of that advice depends on the accuracy and completeness of the information supplied.

You remain responsible for verifying that the system specified is suitable for your installation, and for compliance with any classification society, flag state, vehicle type-approval, insurance or regulatory requirement that applies to you. Advice given by us does not replace the assessment of a qualified marine or automotive electrical engineer, and does not amount to certification of your installation.

9. Installation

Where installation is carried out by an installation partner, that work is contracted between you and the installer. We are not the installer and are not responsible for the workmanship, timing or cost of installation work, unless we have expressly agreed in writing to supply installation as part of the order.

Equipment must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, using correctly rated cable, protection and mounting. Damage arising from incorrect installation is not covered by warranty.

10. Warranty

Goods supplied by us carry the manufacturer’s warranty of Sterling Power UK, for the period stated in the product documentation supplied with the goods, running from the date of our invoice. We administer warranty claims on your behalf with the manufacturer.

To make a claim, contact us at info@sterling-ae.com with the invoice number, the product serial number, a description of the fault and photographs of the installation. Goods may need to be returned for inspection.

Where a fault is confirmed, the manufacturer will repair or replace the unit, or a credit will be issued, at the manufacturer’s option.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Incorrect installation, incorrect wiring, incorrect polarity or use of inadequately rated cable or protection.
  • Use outside the published electrical, thermal or ingress-protection ratings of the product.
  • Damage from water ingress beyond the rated protection level, corrosion, impact, fire, lightning or an unstable supply.
  • Modification, opening or repair of the unit by anyone not authorised by the manufacturer.
  • Fair wear and tear, consumable items, and cosmetic damage that does not affect function.

Labour, removal, refitting, transport, vessel or vehicle downtime and travel costs are not covered unless the manufacturer agrees to them separately in writing.

11. Returns

Goods correctly supplied against a confirmed order may be returned only with our prior written agreement. Returns must be unused, in original undamaged packaging, and requested within [X] days of delivery. A restocking charge may apply and return freight is at your cost.

Goods brought in specially, configured to your requirement, or no longer in the manufacturer’s current range are not returnable.

12. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

Subject to that, our total liability arising out of or in connection with any contract for the supply of goods, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, is limited to the price paid for the goods giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of contract, loss of use, downtime of a vessel or vehicle, loss of catch, charter or hire, cost of recovery or salvage, damage to batteries or other connected equipment, or loss of data.

13. Events outside our control

We are not liable for failure or delay in performing our obligations where that failure or delay results from an event outside our reasonable control, including manufacturer supply failure, shipping disruption, port or customs delay, restriction on trade, act of government, fire, flood, extreme weather, industrial action or failure of utilities or communications networks.

14. Third-party links

This website may contain links to websites operated by others. We provide those links for convenience and do not control or endorse the content of those websites, and we accept no responsibility for them.

15. Privacy

Personal data provided to us through this website is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

16. Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms from time to time. The version published on this website at the time you place an order is the version that applies to that order.

17. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms, and any contract for the supply of goods or services by us, are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates and the laws of the Emirate of Dubai. The courts of Dubai have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
